When you’ve decided to call us, here’s what you can expect:

  1.

Contact our intake person at 301-620-8700 ext. # 110.

  2.

Our intake person will take your request for services, asking for the type of service you are requesting and the times you are available.

  3.

This person will also ask you to provide your insurance information.

  • We are usually able to secure benefits for our clients who have
  •     out-of-network coverage available on PPO and POS insurance plans.
      4.

Your information will be passed on to the therapist, and they will call to set up your first appointment time.  Please see the “Our Staff” page for more information about our therapists.

      5.

The initial interview can vary depending on the therapist and the type of services you are requesting.

  • Much of the time, you can expect that your first appointment will
  •     be two hours long.  It will include filling out some forms, your first session with the therapist, and some type of assessment.

  • You will be asked to do three things:
  •     º

Fill out the “Client Information and Agreement” sheet – this will inform you of your responsibilities in the therapeutic relationship.

        º

Complete the “Religious-Spiritual Client Intake” form – this will let your therapist know how you prefer to have your spiritual values incorporated into the therapy experience.

        º

Fill out some form of a preliminary diagnostic measure to give your therapist a rudimentary understanding of your personality and/or a basic measure of that issue for which you are coming to therapy.

      6.

At the beginning of your initial session with your therapist she or he will communicate information about confidentiality and the basics of what you can expect in the therapy relationship.

      7.

At the end of your first session you and your therapist will determine when your next appointment may be.

Our therapy fees vary based on the therapist’s clinical status. Please discuss therapy fees at the time of your initial phone discussion with your therapist.
